- • The Technical Automation Project Manager at Flex Ltd. plays a critical role in driving regional and site-specific automation initiatives that enhance productivity and support growth across manufacturing operations. This role is essential for aligning business units with automation goals and enabling sites to achieve measurable improvements in efficiency and output.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include mapping manufacturing lines (PCBA, mechanicals, plastics) to identify automation opportunities, analyzing business needs from sites and customers to increase automation penetration, driving and tracking automation projects against timelines, providing technical guidance as an Automation SME, developing feasibility analyses, creating RFQ/SOW documents, supporting procurement in evaluating automation integrators, implementing automation tools for process improvement, participating in supplier bidding, diagnosing manufacturing failures, engaging in daily production problem-solving, training local teams on project management methodologies, quoting automation integrations, collaborating with project managers to meet execution timelines, and executing FAT/SAT stages for project deliverables.

- • In this role, the individual will develop deep expertise in automation project management, gain hands-on experience with industrial automation technologies and protocols, strengthen cross-functional collaboration skills across engineering, procurement, and operations, and contribute directly to productivity gains and technological maturity in manufacturing processes—positioning them for advancement in automation leadership or advanced engineering roles.
🎯 Requirements
- • Advance knowledge in Automation Project Management execution
- • Advance knowledge in PMI methodologies for new projects related to company strategies
- • Advance knowledge on SOW for automation project definition (assembly equipment/lines, AMRs, cobots, WH technologies, vision inspections)
- • Knowledge of Integrated Automated equipment for manufacturing processes
- • Experience integrating automation applications from design to delivery stage
- • Experience with industrial protocols (OPC, Profibus, Fieldbus, Devicenet, IO-link, Modbus, TCP/IP or similar)
- • Management of PM tools such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet
- • Experience with suppliers for automation integration solutions
- • Interpretation and establishment of KPIs and Operational Metrics for automation devices
- • Fluent English, written and spoken
