  • • Latitude Careers is seeking a highly skilled and motivated AWS Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team, supporting critical cloud operations for our valued VA clients. As a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned (SDVOSB) company operating within the Federal Sector, we are committed to fostering a remote, work-from-home culture that prioritizes work-life balance. We champion automation to streamline mundane tasks and invest deeply in our employees' professional growth, empowering them to advance their careers. Our mission is to drive innovation, develop solutions we can be proud of, and overcome technological and governmental barriers.
  • • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in enhancing, optimizing, and maintaining the computing capabilities of our VA clients across their technical landscape. You will collaborate closely with VA System Administrators and Application Teams, ensuring seamless integration and support for their critical systems. Your responsibilities will extend to working with Project Teams to manage and maintain (O&M) VA applications hosted on AWS GovCloud, a secure and compliant environment designed for government workloads.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves leveraging cutting-edge automation tools to streamline infrastructure management and deployment. You will be expected to utilize tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar technologies to provision, configure, and manage cloud resources efficiently and consistently. This proactive approach to infrastructure as code is crucial for maintaining scalability, reliability, and security.
  • • Furthermore, you will play a key part in the upgrading, installation, and configuration of monitoring solutions for both AWS and Azure environments. This includes ensuring comprehensive visibility into the health and performance of Windows and Linux servers, enabling rapid detection and resolution of potential issues. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining gold images and associated scripts, which are essential for standardized and rapid deployment of virtual machines and applications.
  • • Accurate and insightful reporting on the current infrastructure status is a core responsibility. You will generate reports that provide a clear overview of system performance, resource utilization, and compliance metrics, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning. A critical component of your role will be to meticulously document each application's production operations processes, creating comprehensive Production Operations Manuals (POMs). These documents will serve as essential guides for operational teams, ensuring consistency, knowledge transfer, and efficient troubleshooting.
  • • This position demands a proactive mindset, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to adapt to evolving cloud technologies and client needs. You will be a key contributor to ensuring the stability, performance, and security of vital government cloud infrastructure, making a tangible impact on the services provided to veterans. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of our clients and the achievement of Latitude Careers' mission to deliver innovative and reliable technology solutions.
