Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Shape the backbone of Launchpad’s next-generation products by designing, building, and owning resilient micro-services that power millions of user interactions every day.
- • Own the full life-cycle of back-end features—from ideation and architecture diagrams through coding, automated testing, deployment, and post-release monitoring—ensuring every line of code meets our “clean-code” standards and is peer-reviewed for clarity, performance, and security.
- • Collaborate daily with cross-functional squads that include front-end engineers, product managers, UX researchers, and data scientists; participate in domain-driven design workshops to model complex business rules and translate them into elegant, maintainable APIs.
- • Champion best practices in distributed systems: implement idempotent message queues, design for eventual consistency, and apply circuit-breaker patterns to keep services fault-tolerant under unpredictable load spikes.
- • Continuously refactor and modernize legacy endpoints, migrating monoliths to event-driven architectures while preserving backward compatibility and zero-downtime deployments.
- • Instrument services with OpenTelemetry traces, Prometheus metrics, and structured logs; set SLOs and error budgets, then iterate until p99 latency is under 200 ms and availability exceeds 99.9 %.
- • Build robust CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions or Argo CD that run unit, integration, and contract tests on every pull request, enabling true trunk-based development and multiple daily releases.
- • Contribute to internal tooling—think CLI generators, database migration helpers, and shared SDKs—that accelerates every engineer’s velocity and keeps our codebase consistent across repositories.
- • Participate in blameless post-mortems, turning incidents into actionable improvements that strengthen our culture of reliability and psychological safety.
- • Mentor junior developers through pair programming, design reviews, and lightning talks; help establish guilds for Go, Rust, or Kotlin so the entire org levels up together.
- • Explore emerging technologies—whether it’s experimenting with WebAssembly at the edge, evaluating serverless patterns, or piloting CRDTs for real-time collaboration—and present findings that influence our technical roadmap.
- • Influence product strategy by translating technical trade-offs into business impact, ensuring that scalability decisions today unlock new revenue streams tomorrow.
- • Work 100 % remote with flexible hours across time zones; we default to asynchronous communication (Notion, Slack threads, Loom videos) while reserving a few core hours for real-time collaboration.
- • Enjoy a culture that celebrates curiosity: every quarter you’ll receive a personal learning stipend and dedicated “innovation days” to hack on passion projects that could become the next big feature.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of professional back-end development in at least one statically typed language (Go, Kotlin, Java, Rust, or C#) with a track record of shipping production-grade services.
- • Deep understanding of distributed systems fundamentals—CAP theorem, consensus algorithms, message queues (Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ), and eventual consistency patterns.
- • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
- • Proficiency in relational and NoSQL data modeling, query optimization, and schema migrations (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, or MongoDB).
- • Nice-to-have: exposure to domain-driven design, event sourcing, or CQRS; contributions to open-source projects; experience with GraphQL or gRPC; familiarity with cloud-native security best practices.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote, asynchronous-first culture with flexible working hours and an annual home-office stipend to build your ideal workspace.
- • Competitive salary plus equity in a high-growth startup, with transparent salary bands and semi-annual performance reviews.
- • $2,000 annual learning & conference budget, plus five dedicated “innovation days” per quarter to explore new technologies or side projects.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents, plus a monthly wellness allowance for gym memberships or mental-health apps.
