📋 Description

• Design, code, and deliver high-quality, scalable backend applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript to power Deel’s AI-driven global go-to-market engine.
• Build and maintain AI and LLM-powered workflows in production, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability under real-world conditions.
• Lead end-to-end execution of technical projects—from product discovery through deployment—participating in planning and owning outcomes in production.
• Partner directly with Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to align technical development with business outcomes and customer needs.
• Run, monitor, and iteratively improve live systems; own the quality, performance, and stability of deployed features without setting and walking away.
• Develop responsive web applications using Express, NestJS, Vite, and Next.js, with a focus on efficiency, maintainability, and clean architecture.
• Define and implement technical strategies that align with organizational goals, prioritizing high-impact problems and opportunities.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks across systems to ensure successful project delivery and operational continuity.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts between engineering, design, and GTM teams to drive alignment on complex, multi-team initiatives.
• Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of applications to uphold high-quality deliverables and minimize production incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis across code, data, and system interactions to resolve complex, multi-layered technical challenges.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries with deep understanding of data structures and query performance impact.
• Design and debug integrations within distributed systems and APIs, ensuring seamless data flow across services.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to maintain consistent code quality standards and promote team learning.
• Stay current with emerging web development trends, frameworks, and best practices, and proactively recommend process improvements.
• Communicate technical challenges, trade-offs, and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Thrive in a remote-first, collaborative environment where ownership, independence, and team camaraderie are essential to success.
• Take a business-focused approach to software development, ensuring all technical work delivers measurable value to Deel’s global customers.
• Embrace rapid prototyping and iterative development to innovate quickly while maintaining system integrity and scalability.

🎯 Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in software development with hands-on experience shipping AI or LLM-powered workflows in production.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and experience designing maintainable, scalable systems.
• Strong SQL skills including ability to write complex queries from scratch and understand data structure and query performance impact.
• Experience working with APIs and distributed systems, including debugging integrations and understanding data flow across services.
• Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis across code, data, and systems in production environments.
• Experience handling incidents, debugging live issues, and managing escalations in production.
