- • Design, build, and evolve server-side applications and APIs that power Nabla’s AI-driven clinical platform, ensuring reliability in high-stakes healthcare environments.
- • Lead complex integrations with external Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to enable seamless synchronization of automatically generated clinical notes.
- • Contribute to architectural discussions and influence long-term technical strategy for Nabla’s back-end infrastructure, prioritizing scalability and maintainability.
- • Optimize back-end architecture and developer experience to support rapid iteration and high-volume processing of 10 billion tokens per month via LLMs.
- • Collaborate end-to-end within cross-functional squads alongside product managers, designers, machine learning engineers, and domain experts to deliver impactful features.
- • Write clean, maintainable code with high standards for software quality in a production-critical environment where errors directly impact clinician workflows.
- • Work closely with the machine learning team to integrate LLM-based functionalities into back-end systems that generate hundreds of thousands of clinical notes weekly.
- • Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and security requirements in all system designs and integrations.
- • Participate in technical decision-making for distributed systems and real-time APIs serving clinical workflows with low-latency requirements.
- • Contribute to the evolution of Nabla’s tech stack, which includes Kotlin/JVM, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, GCP, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- • Drive improvements in developer tooling and automation to enhance team velocity and system observability.
- • Engage in peer code reviews and mentor junior engineers to uphold engineering excellence across the team.
- • Maintain and extend APIs that enable real-time data exchange between Nabla’s platform and EHRs used by over 130 healthcare organizations.
- • Adapt to evolving clinical and regulatory requirements as Nabla expands its AI capabilities in ambient listening, dictation, coding, and command interfaces.
- • Maintain a strong focus on user-centric engineering by understanding how clinicians interact with the system and translating those insights into technical solutions.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong foundations in computer science or a related discipline
- • Demonstrated experience in back-end engineering within fast-paced, production-critical environments
- • Proficiency in one or more widely used back-end languages (Java, Kotlin, C++, Python, etc.)
- • Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable APIs and distributed systems
- • Comfort driving architectural decisions and technical strategy
- • Clear communication in English
