📋 Description

• As a Backend Engineer - Extensions at Fundamental, you will develop and productize data science capabilities that enhance and expand the performance of NEXUS, the company's Large Tabular Model, directly impacting how Fortune 100 companies make enterprise decisions.
• Day to day, you will own the reliability, performance, and scalability of Extensions capabilities, design and build distributed workflows, collaborate with Data Scientists to translate requirements into engineering solutions, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, contribute to architectural decisions, write clean and well-tested Python code, and help establish backend engineering best practices.
• You will join a team of DeepMind alumni at Fundamental, an AI company pioneering enterprise decision-making with NEXUS, backed by top investors and trusted by global enterprises, working on category-defining technology from the ground up.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, production-scale systems, gain experience collaborating closely with data science teams on real enterprise use cases, and contribute to shaping the backend architecture of a cutting-edge AI platform with measurable impact on business outcomes.
