- • As a Backend Engineer at Deel, you will play a critical role in building and scaling the infrastructure that powers global payroll, HR, and compliance solutions for teams across 150+ countries, directly enabling businesses to hire and pay talent anywhere in the world.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with frontend engineers, product, design, and QA teams to develop and enhance features, APIs, and system performance; participating in full lifecycle product planning; optimizing databases (especially PostgreSQL) for high-volume transactions; and ensuring secure, scalable, and idempotent backend systems.
- • You will join a fully remote, globally distributed engineering team of over 7,000 people spanning 100+ countries, where innovation, autonomy, and customer-centric development are core to the culture and driven by Deel’s mission to unlock global opportunity.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, scalable backend architecture, and fintech-grade systems while contributing to a $1B ARR SaaS platform recognized as a CNBC Disruptor 50 and Forbes Cloud 100 company—accelerating your impact and career growth in the future of work.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript best practices
- • Experience with at least one other server-side language besides Node.js/TypeScript
- • Advanced SQL skills with PostgreSQL, including query optimization, data modeling, and migrations
- • Proven experience designing and optimizing systems for high transaction volumes, concurrency, and scalability
- • Skilled in building secure, scalable APIs with input validation, JWT, and queue-based systems
- • Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer
