📋 Description

• As a Backend Engineer (PHP) at TENTENS Tech, you will play a critical role in building and scaling social discovery platforms used by over 20 million users worldwide, contributing to high-performance, high-load systems that power international tech ventures.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include developing backend functionality using PHP with clean architectural principles (DDD, Layered Architecture, CQRS), writing unit and integration tests, collaborating with frontend engineers to break down user stories, optimizing routine tasks through technical improvements including AI integration, and ensuring idempotent handling of user balance logic — a core product component.
• You will join a team of 250+ engineers who operate with ownership mindset, practicing the 10/10ths philosophy: aiming for maximum impact, asking the right questions, and continuously pushing beyond 'good enough' in a fast-paced environment driven by A/B testing and rapid iteration.
• TENTENS Tech, as a partner IT company of Skelar AS — a Ukrainian venture builder — fosters a culture of technical excellence, offering deep expertise in analytics, highload systems, and performance marketing, while enabling engineers to influence both product and backend community direction through idea implementation and knowledge sharing.
• In this role, you will grow your expertise through regular feedback, senior-led code reviews (including CodeRabbit), CI/CD pipelines, system design validation, and hands-on experience with event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ/Kafka), database indexing (MySQL/Postgres), and microservices — with opportunities to learn and apply Go in complex technical challenges.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong understanding of software development principles including Clean Code, SOLID, DDD, and Clean Architecture
• Confident knowledge of PHP without reliance on a specific framework
• Experience with database indexing and hands-on work in MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience working with message queues in event-driven architecture using RabbitMQ or Kafka
• Proven experience writing automated tests, including unit and integration tests
