Backend QA Engineer

📋 Description

• • As a Backend QA Engineer at Air Apps, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of the company’s AI-powered Personal & Entrepreneurial Resource Planner (PRP), directly contributing to a product used by over 100 million users worldwide.
• • Day to day, you will design and execute tests for backend systems including APIs, databases, and service integrations; validate API functionality using Postman or Swagger; test database operations in PostgreSQL; review pull requests for code quality; develop and maintain automated tests; document defects in tools like TestRail; and collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve testing strategies.
• • You will join a self-funded, family-founded company with offices in Lisbon and San Francisco, where innovation is driven by a long-term focus on AI-driven solutions that empower users globally. The role is fully onsite in Lisbon, offering close collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in backend testing, automation, and API/database validation while contributing to a strong quality culture. You’ll gain hands-on experience with modern backend stacks (Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL) and test management tools, positioning you for growth in quality engineering or DevOps-adjacent paths within a mission-driven tech environment.
