- • Own the end-to-end creation of winning bids, proposals and tender documents that secure multi-million-pound contracts for NEC’s public-sector and enterprise clients across the UK.
- • Translate complex technical solutions into clear, persuasive narratives that resonate with evaluators—translating NEC’s deep expertise in digital transformation, cloud, AI and cyber-security into tangible business value for each prospect.
- • Partner daily with Sales Directors, Solution Architects, Legal, Finance and Delivery teams to extract the right insights, win themes and evidence, then weave them into a cohesive story that scores top marks against evaluation criteria.
- • Rapidly customise every response to the unique context, terminology and pain points of each buyer—whether it’s a local council seeking citizen-centric services or a central-government department modernising legacy infrastructure.
- • Build and maintain a living library of re-usable content, case studies, win themes and compliance artefacts; continuously refine it with post-bid feedback so future submissions are faster and sharper.
- • Run disciplined content calendars within the bid lifecycle—owning outlines, storyboards, writing sprints, peer reviews and sign-offs—so every document is delivered on time, on message and 100 % compliant.
- • Champion NEC’s brand voice and tone of voice guidelines, ensuring consistency across executive summaries, technical responses, pricing narratives and appendices while injecting fresh creativity that sets us apart.
- • Drive continuous improvement: analyse win/loss debriefs, evaluator feedback and industry best practice to evolve our bid methodology, templates and training materials—raising win rates quarter on quarter.
- • Provide ad-hoc coaching to SMEs and junior writers, upskilling the wider presales community in persuasive writing, story-lining and value-based messaging.
- • Stay ahead of procurement trends (e.g., social-value weightings, carbon-reduction questions, modern-slavery statements) and embed the latest requirements into our standard responses before competitors do.
- • Leverage data and graphics to strengthen arguments—crafting infographics, ROI models and risk matrices that make complex propositions instantly credible and memorable.
- • Ensure all submissions pass rigorous quality gates: legal review, commercial sign-off, accessibility checks and brand compliance—protecting NEC’s reputation and minimising risk.
- • Work flexibly from home or any UK NEC office, joining occasional client site visits or bid clarification meetings to gather first-hand insight and build stakeholder rapport.
- • Report into the Head of Presales while dotted-line collaborating with Bid Managers, contributing to weekly pipeline reviews and quarterly strategic planning sessions.
- • Celebrate wins: when the contract award letter lands, share the victory with the wider team, capture lessons learned and immediately pivot to the next high-value opportunity in the pipeline.
