Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect the digital backbone that turns architectural dreams into robotic reality. As our BIM Software Developer you will own the full lifecycle of software that converts rich Building Information Models into precise, robot-ready instructions for off-site construction. Your code will directly influence how quickly and affordably sustainable housing can be delivered across North America.
- • Design and implement sophisticated Design-for-Manufacture-and-Assembly (DfMA) digital framing and BIM modelling solutions in tight collaboration with robotics engineers, structural engineers, and manufacturing specialists. You will translate abstract architectural intent into deterministic, parametric logic that our robotic work-cells can execute flawlessly.
- • Perform deep analysis of complex geometric, material, and sequencing constraints to deliver creative yet practical software solutions. Expect to work with multi-gigabyte Revit models, point clouds, and proprietary mesh data—optimizing them for speed, accuracy, and robotic manufacturability.
- • Develop, test, and maintain Python and C# plugins, micro-services, and REST APIs that expose BIM data to cloud pipelines, version-control systems, and real-time factory dashboards. You will decide when to leverage Autodesk Forge, Revit Server, or custom geometry kernels to hit latency and reliability targets.
- • Integrate tightly with Autodesk APIs (Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360) to enable cloud-based model access, diffing, and automated quality checks. Your integrations will allow architects to iterate in Revit while factory teams see updates in near real-time.
- • Establish internal standards for BIM interoperability, scalability, and automation-readiness. This includes authoring naming conventions, LOD requirements, and automated validation rules that ensure every model can be manufactured without human rework.
- • Champion test-driven development and continuous integration. You will write unit, integration, and regression tests that run nightly against hundreds of reference models, ensuring that every code change preserves geometric fidelity and robotic feasibility.
- • Participate in design and code reviews with a team that values clean architecture, peer learning, and rapid iteration. You will give and receive feedback that raises the bar for performance, security, and maintainability.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with AI researchers who generate optimized framing layouts, with robotics engineers who need collision-free tool-paths, and with field teams who feed real-world performance data back into the digital twin. Your software is the glue that keeps this loop spinning.
- • Contribute to product roadmap discussions, translating customer pain points into technical epics. You will balance short-term factory needs with long-term platform vision, ensuring that every sprint moves us closer to fully automated building production.
- • Mentor junior developers and co-op students, sharing best practices in geometry processing, API design, and construction domain knowledge. Your guidance will scale the team’s collective expertise.
- • Stay ahead of emerging standards such as ISO-19650, IFC 4.3, and openBIM initiatives, evaluating which ones accelerate our mission and leading their adoption when they do.
