📋 Description

• The Binance Accelerator Program - Search & Recommendation Data Scientist role offers early-career talent a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the world’s most influential blockchain ecosystems, where data-driven personalization powers user engagement across trading, finance, education, and Web3 services for over 300 million global users.
• As a Data Scientist in this program, you will work at the intersection of machine learning, user behavior analytics, and large-scale recommendation systems, directly impacting how users discover and interact with digital assets, educational content, and financial products on Binance’s platforms.
• Day to day, you will: analyze vast datasets of user interactions, search queries, and clickstream data to uncover patterns in user intent and preferences; develop and prototype machine learning models for search ranking and personalized recommendation systems using techniques such as collaborative filtering, deep learning, and transformer-based architectures; collaborate with product, engineering, and UX teams to translate business goals into data science experiments and A/B test frameworks; evaluate model performance using metrics like precision@k, NDCG, and CTR, and iterate based on real-time feedback from live traffic; build and maintain feature pipelines using SQL, Python, and Spark to ensure data quality and timeliness for model training and inference; document methodologies, results, and insights in technical reports and presentations for stakeholders across global teams; stay current with advancements in information retrieval, recommender systems, and generative AI for search applications.
• You will be part of Binance’s global Search & Recommendation team, a cross-functional unit embedded within the broader Product and Data Organization, known for its fast-paced, innovation-driven culture and its mission to make Web3 accessible and intuitive for users worldwide. The team operates with a startup mindset within a global leader, emphasizing ownership, experimentation, and impact at scale.
• Through this role, you will gain hands-on experience building and deploying ML systems at internet scale in a high-stakes, high-velocity environment; deepen your expertise in modern recommendation architectures, including two-tower models, sequential modeling, and hybrid approaches; strengthen your ability to communicate complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders; and develop a portfolio of real-world projects that demonstrate your impact on user experience and business metrics in a global fintech leader—skills highly transferable to top tech, finance, and Web3 companies.

🎯 Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or have graduated within the past 12 months.
• Strong foundation in machine learning and statistical modeling, with hands-on experience in Python and libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation; experience with big data tools like Spark, Hive, or Flink is a plus.
• Familiarity with recommendation systems, information retrieval, or natural language processing concepts (e.g., embeddings, ranking, collaborative filtering) is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, curiosity about user behavior, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills (especially Mandarin) are beneficial but not required.
