📋 Description

• Design advanced biology problems that challenge frontier AI systems with deterministic tasks requiring exactly one verifiable correct answer.
• Create scientifically rigorous problems grounded in authentic biological workflows, including experimental reasoning, biological systems, computational analysis, or bioinformatics processes.
• Develop problems within specialized domains such as molecular biology, genetics, systems biology, computational biology, bioinformatics, or adjacent quantitative biology fields.
• Submit complete, verified solutions for all created problems, ensuring technical accuracy and reproducibility.
• Utilize Python for problem development and, when relevant, apply specialized biology or bioinformatics tools to simulate or analyze biological data.
• Ensure all problems and solutions meet high standards of technical clarity, precision, and scientific validity.
• Contribute to the creation of high-quality STEM training data used by leading AI labs to enhance AI reasoning capabilities in scientific domains.
• Work remotely with a commitment of 20 hours per week over a 2-month project duration, with potential for extension.
• Maintain clear, precise written English in all problem statements, solution explanations, and documentation.
• Focus on originality and difficulty, crafting problems that reflect real-world biological research practices and analytical challenges.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a global team to align problem design with AI training objectives and quality benchmarks.
• Adhere to strict guidelines for problem structure, ensuring no ambiguity or multiple valid answers in any task.
• Review and validate all outputs for consistency with current biological knowledge and established scientific methodologies.
• Document all assumptions, data sources, and computational steps used in problem creation to enable auditability and reproducibility.
• Adapt problem complexity to target the reasoning limits of state-of-the-art AI models in scientific domains.
• Participate in feedback cycles to refine problem quality based on AI model performance and team evaluations.
• Maintain meticulous attention to detail in formatting, terminology, and numerical accuracy across all deliverables.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting defined deadlines and quality thresholds.
• Contribute to a growing dataset of scientifically validated AI training materials used to advance AI capabilities in life sciences.

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Biology or a related life sciences field
• Research or industry experience involving computational or quantitative biological analysis
• Strong Python skills; experience with data analysis or bioinformatics workflows preferred
• Strong reasoning ability and comfort with multi-step scientific problem solving
• Ability to create original, difficult problems grounded in real biological practice
• Clear written English and strong attention to detail
