- • Your primary responsibility will be to manage and maintain comprehensive and precise financial records. This encompasses the entire spectrum of bookkeeping, from the meticulous recording and categorization of daily financial transactions to the diligent maintenance of the general ledger and chart of accounts. You will be responsible for preparing accurate journal entries and ensuring all financial documentation is meticulously organized and readily accessible, upholding the highest standards of accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality.
- • A significant part of your role will involve rigorous bank and account reconciliations. You will be tasked with reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and merchant accounts on a regular basis. This process requires a keen eye for detail to identify and promptly resolve any discrepancies that may arise, ensuring that all financial data aligns perfectly. Maintaining detailed reconciliation schedules and supporting files will be essential for audit trails and internal review.
- • You will manage the Accounts Payable (AP) function, which includes processing vendor bills efficiently and adhering to payment schedules. This involves maintaining up-to-date vendor records and monitoring the AP aging report to ensure timely payments and good vendor relationships. A critical aspect of this responsibility is ensuring that all invoices are accurate, properly approved, and correctly coded before payment.
- • Similarly, you will oversee the Accounts Receivable (AR) process. This includes accurately issuing customer invoices, diligently tracking outstanding payments, and applying received payments promptly. You will monitor the AR aging report, proactively following up on overdue balances to maintain healthy cash flow for the business. Your efforts in AR directly contribute to the financial stability and operational capacity of the client company.
- • You will play a supportive role in financial reporting and the month-end close process. This involves assisting with the preparation of basic financial statements, such as the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement and the Balance Sheet, which are vital for understanding the company's financial performance. You will also generate various reports for internal review, providing key financial insights to stakeholders.
- • Depending on the specific client's needs, your responsibilities may extend to supporting payroll processing and recordkeeping, ensuring that employee compensation is handled accurately and compliantly. You will also be responsible for organizing documentation necessary for tax preparation and compliance, potentially assisting external accountants or CPAs with their filings.
