📋 Description

• As a Browser / Kernel Engineer at SearchApi Inc., you will own and evolve the company's in-house patched-browser cloud, ensuring automation remains undetectable by fixing browser fingerprinting at the C++ engine level in Chromium and Firefox.
• Day to day, you will maintain and rebase browser patches onto new stable releases, patch engine-level signals like navigator, WebGL, canvas, fonts, and Client Hints, eliminate Chrome DevTools Protocol leaks, align geolocation and timezone for consistency, and build tooling to validate evasions before customer impact.
• SearchApi Inc. is a lean, profitable, bootstrapped team delivering real-time SERP data from 100+ search engines to Fortune 500 companies and AI startups, operating without VC pressure and shipping multiple times a day with a focus on real customer impact.
• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in browser internals and anti-detection engineering, solve rare and complex problems at the source level, directly influence product reliability for thousands of requests, and grow through ownership of a critical technical moat in a high-autonomy environment.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong C++ proficiency with experience reading and modifying large, unfamiliar codebases and build systems (gn, ninja)
• Hands-on experience shipping or contributing to browser-engine patches, forks, or stealth tools (Chromium, Firefox, camoufox, or similar)
• Understanding of browser fingerprinting and implementation-level spoofing techniques
• Experience with Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP) and headless/headful browser automation internals
• Familiarity with Chromium or Firefox build infrastructure and large-scale patch management
• Experience running browsers at scale and awareness of TLS/HTTP fingerprinting
