đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Opal Labs, Inc., you will be the crucial first point of contact for potential customers, embodying the initial voice and brand representation of Opal Security. Your primary mission is to transform initial curiosity into genuine interest, effectively communicating how Opal addresses the complex identity and access governance challenges faced by modern organizations.
  • • This is an "allbound" role, demanding a dynamic approach that balances swift engagement with inbound leads while simultaneously executing strategic, targeted outbound campaigns across key enterprise accounts. At Opal, we champion a "conversation-first" sales philosophy, believing that robust pipeline generation stems from meaningful, insightful dialogues with the right stakeholders, rather than a high-volume, low-touch approach.
  • • You will operate with a significant degree of account ownership and autonomy, mirroring the responsibilities typically held by Account Executives (AEs). This intentional structure is designed to foster the development of Opal's future sales leaders, providing a clear growth path within the organization.
  • • Your responsibilities will extend to close collaboration with AEs to meticulously identify and qualify high-potential sales opportunities. You will work hand-in-hand with the marketing team to refine and enhance our messaging, ensuring clarity and impact. Furthermore, you will maintain a deep and current understanding of Opal's product roadmap and capabilities, enabling you to articulate precisely what Opal solves today and its future trajectory.
  • • You will be an active representative of Opal at industry events, contributing to brand visibility and lead generation. A key aspect of your role will involve continuous experimentation with various outreach strategies and methodologies to optimize engagement and conversion rates.
  • • Building authentic, lasting relationships from the very first interaction is paramount. This involves understanding prospect needs, demonstrating empathy, and positioning Opal as a trusted advisor in the realm of identity and access governance.
  • • You will be instrumental in educating the market about the critical importance of robust identity and access governance solutions, highlighting the risks associated with inadequate security and the benefits of Opal's platform.
  • • This role requires a proactive mindset, where you are encouraged to take initiative, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the overall success of the sales team and the company.
  • • You will gain invaluable experience in understanding complex enterprise security landscapes, particularly within the identity and access management (IAM) domain, and learn how to navigate intricate sales cycles within large organizations.
  • • The BDR function at Opal is not just about lead generation; it's about laying the foundation for successful, long-term customer relationships and contributing to the strategic growth of the company by building a predictable and scalable sales pipeline.
  • • You will be expected to leverage modern sales enablement tools and technologies to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in your outreach and follow-up processes.
  • • Success in this role means consistently exceeding targets for qualified opportunities and contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment, while also developing your own professional skills and career within a fast-growing tech company.
  • • You will play a vital role in shaping the early stages of the sales funnel, ensuring that only the most qualified and promising leads are passed to the Account Executive team, thereby optimizing the entire sales process.
  • • This position offers a unique opportunity to gain deep insights into the cybersecurity market, specifically focusing on the rapidly evolving challenges and solutions within identity security.
  • • You will be empowered to develop creative and personalized outreach strategies tailored to specific industries and prospect profiles, moving beyond generic templates to foster genuine engagement.
  • • Your ability to articulate value propositions clearly and concisely, even for complex technical solutions, will be a key driver of your success and the success of the sales team.
  • • You will contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement, sharing insights and best practices with your peers and management.
  • • The role demands a high level of organization and time management to effectively juggle inbound and outbound activities, account research, and follow-up tasks.
  • • Ultimately, you will be a key player in Opal's growth story, directly impacting revenue generation and market penetration by building a strong and consistent flow of qualified sales opportunities.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven ability to be a natural storyteller, capable of uncovering and articulating the core security problems keeping prospects up at night and clearly explaining how Opal solves them.
  • • Demonstrated comfort and proficiency with modern sales tools, including but not limited to Nooks, Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and Hockeystack.
  • • Possesses intellectual curiosity and the capacity to quickly grasp complex identity infrastructure and enterprise security challenges.
  • • Exhibits grit, resilience, and empathy in all professional interactions, maintaining a positive and persistent approach.
  • • Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and initiative, proactively seeking out tasks and solutions without constant direction.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and commission structure.
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement within a rapidly growing company.
  • • Generous paid time off and holidays.
  • • Collaborative and dynamic work environment with a focus on innovation and teamwork.
