- • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with insurance agencies and producers to develop and sustain a profitable book of business within the Indianapolis and northern Indiana territory.
- • Sell, service, and manage a network of producers by setting clear production expectations, monitoring their performance, and providing ongoing support to enhance business volume and quality.
- • Evaluate routine to slightly complex insurance risks using Company underwriting guidelines, assessing operational, financial, management, employee, and prior loss history to determine risk acceptability and profitability.
- • Price Company products accurately by applying underwriting authority to match premiums with exposure, loss frequency, and severity, ensuring alignment with profitability targets.
- • Prospect, prequalify, and appoint new producers, conducting thorough assessments of their potential to contribute to the Company’s growth and market presence.
- • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the assigned geographic territory, including local economic conditions, demographic trends, competitor activity, and emerging production sources.
- • Drive the adoption of existing and newly developed insurance products by educating producers and tailoring product offerings to market demands.
- • Conduct regular in-person visits to producer offices and client locations to provide underwriting support, resolve concerns, and strengthen relationships.
- • Monitor industry developments including WCIRB/NCCI rulings, policy form changes, and regulatory updates to ensure compliance and competitive positioning.
- • Generate marketing research and insights to inform management on opportunities for product enhancements, new distribution channels, and untapped geographic markets.
- • Serve as the primary Company representative to both existing and prospective producers, acting as the key point of contact for underwriting decisions and business inquiries.
- • Utilize Company technology to maintain consistent communication with agents and insureds, ensuring timely responses and high levels of customer service.
- • Present Agency Management solutions to both agency principals and internal ICW management teams to align producer goals with Company objectives.
- • Travel up to 50% of the time, primarily by automobile, to meet with producers, attend industry events, and develop new business opportunities; occasional air travel may be required.
- • Work from a home office environment with regular use of computer, telephone, and standard office equipment, supporting a fully remote field-based role.
- • Ensure all underwriting activities comply with established guidelines while maintaining a strong focus on profitability, retention, and growth of the assigned book of business.
