  • • The Business Process Auditor Associate role provides independent and objective assurance and advisory services within a regulated health plan environment, supporting governance, risk, and control evaluations across operations.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in planning and executing risk-based audits, performing walkthroughs and control testing, preparing audit workpapers, communicating with business partners, and supporting corrective action tracking under audit management’s direction.
  • • The role is part of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s Internal Audit team, which ensures compliance with state, federal, and contractual requirements while advancing audit methodology and professional standards.
  • • The associate will build foundational knowledge of health plan operations, develop audit skills aligned with IIA standards, and progress toward professional certifications such as CIA, CPA, or CISA through training, coaching, and hands-on experience.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (3+ years of related experience may substitute for degree)
  • • 0-2 years of experience in a related field such as audit, compliance, finance, or healthcare operations
  • • Willingness to work in a hybrid environment with periodic onsite presence at the Durham campus as needed
