- • This role is a Senior Embedded Video Streaming Engineer position focused on developing real-time, low-latency video streaming solutions for smart home and IoT devices. The engineer will work within a dedicated streaming team of 20 experts, contributing to both cloud and embedded streaming domains for camera-based security products, where technical excellence directly impacts product reliability and user experience in a global market.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and optimizing embedded video streaming software, writing and integrating C/C++ components for real-time pipelines, troubleshooting networking and streaming issues in embedded Linux environments, conducting end-to-end device testing, analyzing streaming KPIs such as latency and jitter, participating in code reviews, contributing to technical documentation, and adhering to team engineering standards to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
- • The team operates within a global smart home security company with a specialized streaming department, emphasizing deep technical expertise in real-time media pipelines. Engineers collaborate closely across embedded and cloud domains, fostering innovation in low-resource, high-performance video delivery systems used in consumer IoT devices deployed worldwide.
- • In this role, the engineer will deepen expertise in real-time streaming protocols, embedded multimedia frameworks, and network optimization under constraints. They will gain hands-on influence over architectural decisions, improve system reliability through root-cause analysis, and develop leadership potential by mentoring peers and driving technical excellence in a high-impact streaming team.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of commercial experience in embedded development
- • 2–3+ years of direct hands-on experience with video/audio streaming
- • Strong C and C++ development skills; C++ is the primary language, with C also used in the project
- • Commercial experience with Embedded Linux - mandatory
- • Hands-on experience with streaming frameworks such as GStreamer, FFmpeg, WebRTC, or similar - mandatory
- • Proven experience with real-time, low-latency video streaming on resource-constrained devices
- • Strong networking background, including TCP/IP, UDP/TCP, VoIP, and Video over IP
- • Experience troubleshooting streaming and networking issues in embedded environments
- • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify root causes
- • Good written and spoken English
