- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of Cashea’s financial data infrastructure, designing resilient pipelines that ingest, transform, and serve data for 6 million+ customers and thousands of merchants across Venezuela.
- • Architect scalable ETL/ELT workflows in Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage) that consolidate transactional, accounting, and third-party data into a single source of truth for Finance, Accounting, and Executive teams.
- • Build and maintain dbt models optimized for financial reporting, cash-flow forecasting, revenue recognition, cost allocation, tax compliance, and audit trails—ensuring every number can be traced back to its origin with full lineage.
- • Automate daily, weekly, and monthly financial dashboards that surface KPIs such as net cash position, burn rate, customer lifetime value, merchant settlement accuracy, and regulatory capital ratios—freeing analysts from manual spreadsheet work.
- • Implement data-quality frameworks using SQL-based tests, anomaly detection, and alerting in Airflow or Cloud Composer to guarantee 99.9 % accuracy of critical financial metrics and to catch discrepancies before they reach regulators or investors.
- • Partner directly with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements (e.g., IFRS, local tax codes) into technical specifications, ensuring our data warehouse supports statutory filings and board-level decision-making.
- • Optimize query performance and storage costs by partitioning, clustering, and materializing large datasets—reducing average report generation time from hours to minutes while keeping cloud spend within budget.
- • Establish robust data-governance policies including encryption at rest/in transit, role-based access control, PII tokenization, and audit logging to safeguard sensitive financial information and maintain SOC 2 readiness.
- • Continuously evaluate new GCP services and open-source tools (Dataform, Dagster, Great Expectations) to modernize our stack, improve developer velocity, and future-proof Cashea’s data platform as transaction volume scales 10×.
- • Serve as the go-to data evangelist, mentoring junior analysts and engineers on SQL best practices, Python coding standards, and financial domain knowledge—elevating the entire team’s data literacy.
- • Contribute to cross-functional OKRs by delivering experimental datasets that power machine-learning models for credit risk, fraud detection, and dynamic pricing—directly impacting revenue and customer trust.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years as a Data or Analytics Engineer, with at least 2 years focused on finance, accounting, or fintech data.
- • Expert-level SQL and hands-on experience modeling general-ledger, payments, and reconciliation data.
- • Proven track record building production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines with dbt, Airflow, Dataform, or similar tools.
- • Strong Python skills for data manipulation, orchestration scripts, and API integrations.
- • Solid grasp of accounting principles (double-entry bookkeeping, accruals, chart of accounts) and financial regulations.
