📋 Description

• We are seeking a Certified Appraiser, Property Tax Appeals to join our team at Jerry Technologies Inc. in Miami, Florida.
• As a Certified Appraiser, you will be responsible for reviewing and advising on our new product, which aims to help homeowners navigate the complex property tax appeals process in Florida.
• You will be working closely with our team to ensure that our product is accurate, efficient, and effective in helping homeowners save money on their property taxes.
• Your expertise and knowledge of the Florida property tax appeals process will be invaluable in shaping our product and ensuring that it meets the needs of our customers.
• You will be working on a contract basis, approximately 5-10 hours per week, with the potential for a full-time permanent role if the product sees traction.
• You will be responsible for reviewing and advising on the regulatory grounding of our product, including Chapter 194, F.S. and the DOR uniform rules (12D-9, 12D-10).
• You will also be responsible for walking us through the county-level reality of the Property Appraiser's offices and VABs, including the differences between Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Hillsborough, Orange, Duval, Pinellas, and Lee counties.
• You will be guiding us through the filing mechanics, including TRIM notice timing, the 25-day window, DR-486 and its variants, e-filing versus paper, and the §194.014 partial-payment requirement.
• You will also be helping us build a flow that actually wins in front of a special magistrate, including comparable selection, the 15-day and 7-day evidence exchange windows, and condition-based arguments.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of direct, hands-on Florida experience filing residential property tax appeals.
• Personal experience filing or arguing petitions before a Florida VAB, or adjudicating them as a special magistrate.
• No active conflict: not currently advising another company building consumer property tax appeal software.
• Florida-based strongly preferred, given county-level familiarity requirements.
