📋 Description

• The Chief Engineer, Autonomy at Shield AI leads the technical direction for deploying advanced autonomy solutions on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), ensuring the successful integration of Hivemind Autonomy across diverse aircraft platforms.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include serving as the chief authority on system architecture, leading a team of engineers to deliver cutting-edge autonomous capabilities for autonomous systems, overseeing design, development, risk mitigation, and product quality to meet defense and B2B contract requirements.
• The role is part of the Hivemind Solutions organization, leading a team of engineers to develop and deploy autonomous systems for defense and commercial applications, supporting Shield AI’s mission to protect service members and civilians with intelligent systems.
• The Chief Engineer will drive innovation in autonomous flight systems, gain deep expertise in defense-tech integration, and shape the future of autonomous aircraft through leadership in a mission-critical, high-impact organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Chief Engineer in the defense industry with a track record of leading technical teams to develop and deploy autonomous systems.
• Deep expertise in system architecture, design, and development of advanced autonomy solutions for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams in high-stakes, mission-critical environments with focus on risk mitigation and product quality.
