This pivotal role is designed to enhance operational excellence within the finance and operations functions, driving critical, high-impact projects, orchestrating key leadership and board-level communications, and providing essential leverage on a spectrum of strategic initiatives. You will be instrumental in preparing board materials, researching new business opportunities, and supporting due diligence efforts, acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.

  • • As Chief of Staff, you will work directly with senior executives and cross-functional leaders, ensuring seamless alignment and rigorous execution on the most critical priorities for the CFO/COO organization. This individual contributor role offers significant influence and visibility across the entire company, allowing you to shape strategic direction and operational efficiency.
  • • Your responsibilities will encompass acting as a thought partner and strategic advisor to the CFO, supporting both day-to-day operational priorities and long-term strategic planning. You will lead the development and coordination of content for crucial board meetings, audit committee meetings, and executive presentations, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and strategic alignment.
  • • You will also play a key role in supporting the CFO in preparation for investor calls. This involves in-depth research into investor portfolios, recent deals, and stated investment philosophies, distilling complex information into clear, actionable pre-read materials that inform strategic decision-making.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves assessing potential business development and M&A opportunities. You will support strategic evaluations and due diligence processes, contributing to Babylist's accelerated growth trajectory.
  • • Project management for complex, cross-functional initiatives will be a core function. You will bring structure to ambiguous work, coordinate senior stakeholders, and ensure critical efforts move forward with clear ownership, accountability, and robust follow-through.
  • • You will partner closely with the CFO in managing interactions with banks and external advisors. This includes coordinating materials, managing inbound requests, and exercising sound judgment to prioritize efforts in diligence and readiness-style work.
  • • You will be responsible for developing first-pass drafts of critical financial and strategic materials, serving as an editor and integrator of diverse stakeholder input to produce polished, executive-ready deliverables.
  • • Furthermore, you will serve as a project lead for special cross-functional efforts that may not fit neatly within existing functional teams, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to addressing emerging business needs.
  • • Driving effective operating rhythms across the G&A and Operations organization is another key objective. This involves improving information flow, enhancing decision clarity, and fostering alignment on company-wide priorities, ensuring the entire organization operates with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • • Babylist operates as a remote-first company with team members across the U.S. and Canada, fostering strong relationships through in-person gatherings twice a year. For this role, candidates located in or near Emeryville, CA, will be required to come into the office at least once a week. Non-local candidates should expect frequent travel.
