- • As Chief of Staff to the SVP of Engineering at SmartRecruiters, you will serve as a strategic operational partner, acting as an operational Swiss Army Knife to scale the executive’s time, attention, and decision-making capabilities.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include supporting the creation and execution of engineering strategy, translating it into actionable OKRs and quarterly initiatives, and owning the planning cadence to ensure organizational focus on high-impact work.
- • You will design and facilitate the engineering leadership operating rhythm, including leading weekly status calls, managing QBRs and OKR reviews, and organizing leadership off-sites to drive alignment and accountability.
- • Acting as a trusted proxy for the SVP, you will resolve cross-functional escalations, lead ambiguous initiatives such as M&A technical due diligence or market entry analyses, and partner with Finance, People, and Go-To-Market teams to enable effective decision-making.
- • You will prepare executive briefs, board-level narratives, and presentations for the SVP, synthesizing complex technical progress into clear, compelling communications for leadership and stakeholders.
- • Partnering with the CFO and Chief People Officer, you will support engineering budgeting, capacity planning, hiring plans, and the design of performance management, compensation, and promotion processes.
- • Your role is to ensure the engineering organization is working on the right things by closing the gap between strategy and execution, fostering psychological safety, and enabling stretch goals through disciplined prioritization and WIP management.
- • You will operate at the intersection of Engineering, Product, Design, Go-To-Market, and Finance, translating strategic initiatives into measurable plans and unblocking dependencies to accelerate execution.

- • Proven experience in strategy, operations, or program management within a fast-paced technology or engineering-led organization.
- • Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear executive communications and presentations.
- • Experience designing and facilitating OKR processes, quarterly business reviews, and leadership operating rhythms.
- • Demonstrated skill in managing cross-functional initiatives and resolving escalations without constant executive oversight.
- • Background in partnering with finance and people teams on budgeting, capacity planning, and organizational design.
- • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills with a focus on driving effectiveness over mere efficiency.
