Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Are you a seasoned medical professional with a deep understanding of surgical procedures, patient care, and complex clinical decision-making? Do you possess a keen eye for detail and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of safety and accuracy in healthcare? If so, 10Xteam Inc. is seeking your invaluable expertise to contribute to the cutting edge of artificial intelligence development.
  • • We are a dynamic platform connecting fractional and freelance professionals with leading AI laboratories, and we are on the hunt for practicing or former surgeons based in the EU or UK to lend their specialized knowledge to the refinement of advanced AI systems. This unique opportunity allows you to leverage your extensive clinical background in a novel and impactful way, without the direct demands of patient care.
  • • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping the intelligence of AI models designed to assist in surgical decision-making and perioperative care. Your primary responsibility will involve meticulously reviewing and refining AI-generated responses. This goes beyond simple error correction; you will be evaluating outputs for their clinical accuracy, ensuring the procedural realism aligns with real-world surgical practice, and critically assessing patient safety considerations. Your insights will directly influence the AI's ability to provide safe, effective, and evidence-based guidance.
  • • A significant aspect of your contribution will be the creation of realistic and nuanced surgical scenarios. You will be tasked with drafting complex cases that span the entire patient journey, from pre-operative risk assessment and planning, through intraoperative decision points and complication management, to post-operative care strategies. This requires a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted nature of surgical interventions and the potential challenges that can arise.
  • • To further enhance the AI's adaptability and understanding of diverse healthcare perspectives, you will also develop variations of the same case from multiple viewpoints. This includes simulating the thought processes and considerations of a surgeon, an anaesthetist, a surgical resident, a hospital administrator, or even a patient. This exercise will equip the AI with a broader contextual awareness, enabling it to better understand the implications of its recommendations across different stakeholders.
  • • Your critical evaluation skills will be paramount in identifying any unsafe recommendations, flawed clinical logic, or unrealistic procedural assumptions within the AI's outputs. You will act as a crucial safeguard, ensuring that the AI's knowledge base and reasoning capabilities are robust, reliable, and aligned with current best practices in surgical care.
  • • In essence, your role is to bridge the gap between sophisticated AI technology and the practical realities of surgical judgment, risk awareness, and evidence-based practice. You will be the expert voice guiding the AI towards a deeper and more accurate comprehension of surgical and acute care topics, thereby directly improving its performance and utility in critical medical contexts.
  • • This position is ideal for surgeons who are seeking a flexible engagement that complements their existing professional commitments. Whether you are actively practicing, hold a hospital-based role, or are engaged in academic pursuits, this freelance opportunity offers the flexibility to dedicate 8 to 20 hours per week. The work is entirely remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within the EU or UK, and it is designed to fit seamlessly around your demanding schedule. You will benefit from a clear scope of work, structured onboarding, and the potential for ongoing collaboration based on your performance and the evolving needs of our AI partners. This is a chance to apply your hard-earned clinical expertise in a groundbreaking field, making a tangible difference in the future of AI in healthcare.
