📋 Description

• Claims Expert for AI Research Project – You will apply your deep insurance claims expertise to help shape how frontier AI models reason through complex insurance problems, directly influencing the development of next-generation AI systems used in institutional finance.
• Day to day, you will design realistic claims tasks including intake, investigations, coverage determinations, reserve-setting, and resolution scenarios; write evaluation rubrics that reflect professional claims reasoning; review AI-generated outputs to identify gaps in coverage analysis, reserve adequacy, or investigative rigor; build benchmark claim files and adjudication materials; and clearly communicate claim decisions and rationale in writing.
• Aptura Inc. partners with leading AI labs to embed institutional finance expertise into AI model development. Founded by former Lazard and Partners Group professionals, the company operates remotely with teams in London and San Francisco, focusing on bridging domain expertise with cutting-edge AI research.
• In this role, you will refine your ability to translate nuanced claims judgment into structured AI training signals, gain exposure to frontier AI development processes, and contribute to making AI systems more reliable and domain-aware in high-stakes insurance contexts.

🎯 Requirements

• 5–8+ years of experience handling P&C claims as an adjuster, examiner, claims specialist, or claims manager
• Proven ability to make coverage decisions, set reserves, or handle claim outcomes that withstand scrutiny
• AIC, CPCU, SCLA, or equivalent certification (preferred, not required)
• Skill in explaining claim resolution reasoning clearly enough to teach the logic, not just the outcome
