- • The Clinical Documentation Coder role at VillageMD is essential for ensuring accurate risk adjustment, regulatory compliance, and HCC diagnosis coding, directly supporting value-based care initiatives that improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing patient charts to code diagnostic information, identifying coding improvement opportunities, validating missed codes, auditing charts for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines, reimbursement policies, and accreditation standards.
- • VillageMD is a physician-led, patient-centric healthcare network operating through brands like Village Medical, Summit Health, CityMD, and Starling Physicians, serving millions across traditional, home, and virtual care settings with a mission to transform primary care through innovation and connection.
- • In this role, you will develop expertise in HCC and risk adjustment coding, gain experience in outpatient clinical documentation improvement, collaborate with care teams to enhance coding accuracy, and contribute to high-quality, cost-effective care delivery while advancing your professional growth in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Professional Coding Certification such as CPC, CCS, or CCS-P required; CRC certification is a plus
- • Minimum of 1 year of experience in advanced professional coding with HCC coding experience required
- • GED or Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- • Experience providing coding education in an outpatient environment, preferably in primary care
- • Proficiency with payer policies and guidelines, Electronic Health Records, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
- • Strong communication skills and technology-savviness
