- • The Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation to support proper coding, billing, and quality reporting, directly impacting patient care and organizational performance.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting concurrent reviews of inpatient medical records, identifying documentation gaps, and collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to improve clinical documentation accuracy through face-to-face and electronic interactions.
- • The role is part of Memorial Hermann Health System, a leading healthcare organization committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care and fostering a supportive environment where employees are valued and empowered to grow.
- • In this position, the specialist will develop expertise in clinical documentation improvement, gain deep insight into coding and reimbursement processes, enhance communication and leadership skills through physician education initiatives, and contribute to organizational performance metrics while advancing their clinical and professional growth.
🎯 Requirements
- • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or a valid temporary/compact license
- • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required
- • Minimum of five (5) years of recent RN bedside experience in an acute care hospital setting
- • Experience in pediatrics, NICU, critical care, and/or ICU nursing is required for consideration
- • Proficiency in computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and internet research
- • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to educate and collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams
