📋 Description

• • The Clinical Documentation Integrity Supervisor assists the CDI Manager in supervising day-to-day operations for Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists supporting assigned clients, ensuring adequate coverage, monitoring productivity, utilization, compliance, KPIs, and monthly quality audits.
• • The role involves leading by example, fostering a positive and transparent work environment, cultivating relationships with facility leadership (HIM, Coding, Case Management, Quality, Medical Staff), and providing daily oversight of the CDI program including productivity, quality, education, training, auditing, report management, and process standardization.
• • The supervisor serves as an advocate for CDI best practices by linking accurate clinical documentation to coded data, supports correct reporting and acuity capture, assists with CDI technology implementation, maintains expertise in the CDI technology tool, and resolves technical issues through collaboration with vendors, facility IT, and Guidehouse IT.
• • The position requires building trust-based relationships with client staff, physicians, and Guidehouse team members, assisting in recruitment and onboarding, conducting performance evaluations, approving timesheets, tracking project utilization, and communicating program updates, risks, and needs to leadership while demonstrating strong facilitation, listening, and problem-solving skills.
• • The role demands expert knowledge in managing CDI teams, assessing health system opportunities for CDI improvement, developing processes to enhance documentation performance, applying strong project management skills, communicating effectively with medical staff and leadership, maintaining deep knowledge of CDI and coding best practices, and driving optimal use of CDI technology and reporting capabilities.
• • The supervisor must maintain professional credentials, possess a university degree in Nursing or MD/MBBS, hold at least one of RHIA, RHIT, CCS, MD, or RN, and hold at least one of CCDS, CCS, or CDIP, with a minimum of 5 years of acute care hospital CDI experience and 2 years of prior management experience.
