- • As a Clinical Pharmacist Reviewer at Prime Therapeutics LLC, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the appropriate and efficient processing of utilization management requests, directly impacting patient access to necessary medications and upholding the integrity of our pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services.
- • This remote position offers a unique opportunity to leverage your clinical pharmacy expertise in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment, contributing to a PBM that prioritizes care and innovation.
- • Your primary responsibility will involve the meticulous clinical evaluation of coverage determination requests, encompassing a range of utilization management (UM) programs such as prior authorizations (PA), formulary exceptions, step therapy, and quantity limit exceptions.
- • You will critically assess these requests against pre-approved criteria and client-specific guidelines, ensuring decisions are not only clinically sound but also align with the intent of the established policies.
- • A key aspect of this role is the careful consideration of denial language, ensuring that any adverse decisions are communicated clearly, accurately, and compassionately, while also identifying opportunities for alternative, covered therapies.
- • You will serve as a crucial point of contact for healthcare providers, engaging in direct consultations to address complex non-formulary issues and clinical product coverage challenges, thereby facilitating smoother patient care pathways.
- • This collaborative engagement with providers is essential for resolving medication-related inquiries and guiding them toward appropriate formulary options and coverage solutions.
- • Working closely with a team of fellow pharmacists, you will contribute to a culture of consistent and equitable decision-making, sharing insights and best practices to maintain high standards of clinical review across the organization.
- • Your role extends to responding to a variety of medication-related inquiries received via phone, providing accurate and timely information to patients, healthcare providers, and clinic staff.
- • This includes offering guidance on medication usage, formulary alternatives, and specific coverage details, empowering individuals with the knowledge they need.
- • You will be instrumental in upholding Prime Therapeutics' commitment to providing a different kind of PBM, one focused on a purpose beyond profits and dedicated to connecting care for those we serve.
- • By meticulously reviewing cases and providing expert clinical judgment, you will directly contribute to the company's mission of building the future of pharmacy.
- • The ability to work efficiently with computers and digital tools is paramount, as you will navigate various software systems and electronic health records to process requests and document findings.
- • This role demands a strong understanding of clinical pharmacy principles and their application within a managed care setting.
- • You will be expected to stay abreast of evolving clinical guidelines, formulary changes, and regulatory requirements to ensure your reviews are always current and compliant.
- • The impact of your work extends beyond individual case reviews; you will be a guardian of cost-effective and clinically appropriate medication use, contributing to the overall health outcomes of Prime's members.
- • This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to contribute your valuable skills from the comfort of your home while remaining an integral part of a leading PBM organization.
- • You will be an essential part of a team dedicated to innovation and excellence in pharmacy benefit management, helping to shape the future of healthcare.
