📋 Description

  • As a Cloud Data Engineer Lead at Mutt Data SRL, you will be at the forefront of innovation, driving the development and deployment of our cutting-edge data products and machine learning systems. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, remote-first startup that is passionate about leveraging Big Data and ML to create impactful solutions, particularly in the realm of marketing campaign budget optimization and allocation.
  • You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our internal optimization platform, taking our existing expertise and elevating it to new heights. Your role will involve a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on technical execution, and collaborative leadership, ensuring that our data-driven initiatives translate directly into tangible business value.
  • A core responsibility will be the design, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of sophisticated machine learning models. These models are the engine behind our product, enabling clients to make smarter, more efficient decisions regarding their marketing expenditures. You will ensure these systems are not only accurate but also scalable, reliable, and seamlessly integrated into our product offerings.
  • You will collaborate closely with our product team, translating business needs and product vision into robust technical solutions. This cross-functional partnership is crucial for ensuring that our data engineering efforts are aligned with market demands and strategic objectives.
  • Working with business stakeholders will be a key aspect of your role. You will be responsible for communicating complex technical concepts in an understandable manner, gathering requirements, and demonstrating the impact of our data solutions. Your ability to bridge the gap between technical possibilities and business outcomes will be vital.
  • You will be tasked with bringing robust, production-ready systems into operation. This involves not just building models, but also establishing the infrastructure, pipelines, and monitoring necessary for their successful and continuous operation in a live environment.
  • Introducing fresh technical insights and best practices will be a significant contribution. You will stay abreast of the latest advancements in cloud data engineering, machine learning operations (MLOps), and big data technologies, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate to enhance our capabilities and efficiency.
  • Ensuring our models deliver real business impact is paramount. You will be focused on the end-to-end lifecycle of ML models, from data ingestion and preprocessing to model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring, with a constant eye on the business metrics they influence.
  • If you thrive on building scalable ML pipelines, you will find ample opportunity here. You will architect and implement data pipelines that can handle large volumes of data, ensuring data quality, integrity, and timely availability for model training and inference.
  • Solving complex challenges is at the heart of this role. You will tackle intricate problems related to data processing, model performance, scalability, and operational efficiency, employing creative and data-driven approaches.
  • Shaping products that drive decision-making at scale is the ultimate goal. You will contribute to the evolution of our product, ensuring that it provides powerful, actionable insights to our users, empowering them to optimize their marketing strategies.
  • As a Lead, you will also play a role in mentoring and guiding other team members, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and technical excellence within the data team.
  • You will be responsible for selecting and implementing appropriate cloud technologies and services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) to build and manage our data infrastructure and ML workflows.
  • This role requires a deep understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, ETL/ELT processes, and real-time data streaming technologies.
  • You will be involved in defining data governance policies and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for automation and optimization within our data pipelines and ML workflows.
  • Contribute to the overall technical strategy and roadmap for data and ML at Mutt Data SRL.
  • Champion data quality and integrity throughout the entire data lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate ML models into production applications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production data pipelines and ML systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Design and implement robust data security measures.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence.
  • Drive continuous improvement in our data engineering and ML practices.
  • You will be a key player in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your contributions will have a direct and measurable impact on the company's success and the value delivered to our clients. We are looking for someone who is not just technically proficient but also passionate about data and its potential to transform businesses. Your leadership and technical acumen will be critical in guiding our data initiatives forward.

  • Expertise in programming languages commonly used in data engineering and ML, such as Python, SQL, and potentially Scala or Java.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop ecosystem) and data streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis).
  • Familiarity with MLOps principles and tools for model deployment, monitoring, and management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
