- • Develop, maintain, and improve automation scripts and tools to support Incident, Problem, Change, and communication processes within Redis Cloud’s Cloud Operations team.
- • Collaborate with Cloud Operations, Engineering, and Service Operations teams to identify operational challenges and translate them into practical technical solutions.
- • Assist in enhancing runbooks, playbooks, workflows, dashboards, and internal operational documentation to improve clarity and efficiency.
- • Identify recurring operational issues and propose or implement automation or process improvements that reduce manual effort and increase system reliability.
- • Participate in the testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of internal tools and automation systems used by the Cloud Operations team.
- • Integrate with REST APIs, monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and internal platforms to enhance operational visibility, response speed, and system performance.
- • Work with cloud environments to automate routine tasks, streamline alerting, and improve incident response workflows.
- • Contribute to the design and refinement of operational workflows by analyzing logs, alerts, and system behavior to determine root causes and preventive measures.
- • Ensure all automation scripts and tools adhere to software engineering best practices, including version control via Git, code reviews, testing, and comprehensive documentation.
- • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and drive alignment on operational improvements.
- • Work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote, distributed team environment, taking ownership of assigned tasks and proactively seeking opportunities for improvement.
- • Continuously learn and adapt to new tools, systems, and operational methodologies to stay aligned with evolving cloud infrastructure and service reliability standards.
- • Support the team in maintaining high standards of service reliability by participating in process reviews, post-mortems, and operational audits.
- • Help document and standardize operational procedures to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing across the team.
- • Apply practical problem-solving skills to resolve complex operational bottlenecks using automation and tooling rather than manual intervention.
- • Maintain a strong focus on reducing toil, improving mean time to resolution (MTTR), and increasing overall system observability through automation.
- • Engage with internal platforms and tools used for service management, incident tracking, and performance monitoring to enhance integration and data flow.
- • Contribute to the scalability and resilience of Cloud Operations by automating repetitive and error-prone manual processes.
- • Support on-call and incident response activities as needed, applying automation to reduce resolution time and improve team efficiency.
- • Stay current with industry best practices in cloud operations, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering to inform tooling and process decisions.
- • Actively participate in team retrospectives and feedback cycles to drive continuous improvement of operational systems and collaboration practices.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of hands-on experience in software development, scripting, cloud operations, technical support engineering, DevOps, SRE, or a similar technical role.
- • Hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript, or another scripting/programming language.
- • Basic understanding of cloud environments, service operations, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- • Familiarity with REST APIs, integrations, automation scripts, or operational tooling.
- • Basic knowledge of software engineering practices, including Git, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, analyze logs or alerts, and break problems into clear next steps.
