  • • Serve as the primary point of contact for Coordination of Benefits (COB) inquiries and resolution, ensuring accurate identification and application of primary and secondary insurance plans for members enrolled in Gravie’s health benefit programs.
  • • Manage the subrogation process by identifying potential third-party liability cases, initiating recovery efforts, and coordinating with external vendors, legal teams, and insurance carriers to recover payments owed to Gravie’s plans.
  • • Review and analyze claims data to detect patterns of improper payment, duplicate coverage, or misallocated benefits that may trigger COB or subrogation actions.
  • • Collaborate with internal teams including member services, claims processing, and compliance to ensure seamless handoffs and accurate documentation of COB and subrogation activities.
  • • Maintain detailed records of all COB and subrogation cases in internal systems, ensuring audit readiness and adherence to regulatory requirements including ERISA and HIPAA.
  • • Communicate clearly and professionally with members, employers, and third-party payers to resolve coverage conflicts, explain benefit determinations, and obtain necessary documentation.
  • • Prepare and submit formal demand letters and recovery requests to liable third parties, following established protocols and legal guidelines.
  • • Monitor timelines and deadlines for subrogation recovery efforts, escalating unresolved cases to supervisors or legal counsel as needed.
  • • Participate in ongoing training and process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in COB and subrogation workflows.
  • • Support the implementation of automated tools and data validation rules to reduce manual errors and improve detection rates for potential recovery opportunities.
  • • Ensure all COB and subrogation activities align with Gravie’s mission of delivering clear, fair, and effective health benefits to small and midsize businesses and their employees.
  • • Stay current on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in health benefits coordination and third-party liability recovery.
  • • Provide regular reporting on recovery metrics, case volumes, and process bottlenecks to leadership for strategic decision-making.
  • • Act as a subject matter expert for internal teams on COB and subrogation policies, procedures, and system functionality.
  • • Maintain strict confidentiality of member health information and ensure all actions comply with privacy and data security standards.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience in Coordination of Benefits (COB) and/or subrogation within health insurance or benefits administration
  • • Strong understanding of health plan structures, insurance layers, and liability determination processes
  • • Experience using claims management or benefits administration systems
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with members, providers, and third parties
  • • Detail-oriented with high accuracy in data entry, documentation, and regulatory compliance
  • • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines
