📋 Description
- • The Coder – Professional role at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is critical to ensuring accurate and timely assignment of diagnostic and procedural codes on medical records, directly supporting the hospital’s mission to improve patient care through reliable health data indexing for outpatient, inpatient, and emergency encounters.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing medical records, super bills, and charge sheets to assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes, abstracting data into network systems, monitoring work queues for missing documentation, identifying and resolving coding discrepancies in collaboration with supervisors and clinical staff, and reporting problem accounts to the Coding Supervisor.

🎯 Requirements
- • 3 years of experience in hospital and/or physician practice outpatient coding
- • High school diploma or equivalent
- • Minimum of one of the following certifications: Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC)
