📋 Description

• We are seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel to join our Legal Team in India.
• In this role, you will support complex commercial transactions across India and where necessary, the broader APAC region, including SaaS, licensing, and strategic partnerships, while helping the company navigate diverse legal and regulatory frameworks in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.
• You will work closely with global colleagues to provide practical, business-oriented advice that enables growth while managing risk across multiple jurisdictions.
• Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, partnering with sales, business development, and operations teams, monitoring and interpreting evolving region-specific legal and regulatory developments, developing and maintaining contract templates, and providing clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional teams.
• We are looking for a curious and enthusiastic individual with a strong sense of ownership, who has worked for a US-based or global multinational out of India and has direct experience working with customers both in and outside the region.
• The ideal candidate will have a law degree and qualification to practice law in India, 7+ years of relevant post-qualification legal experience, a proven track record drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements, and strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property.
