- • As a Commercial Loans Senior Data Analyst at Social Finance, Inc. (SoFi), you will own end-to-end analytics for the commercial lending portfolio, translating performance insights into measurable feedback loops that improve credit strategy, risk management, and profitability—directly impacting members’ financial outcomes and the company’s growth.
- • Day to day, you will define and maintain KPIs across credit risk, growth, and profitability; perform cohort and segmentation analysis; build executive dashboards and automated reporting; monitor portfolio concentrations and early warning indicators; analyze credit policy performance; conduct root-cause analysis on defaults; evaluate risk vs. growth vs. profitability trade-offs; and partner with Credit, Risk, Underwriting, Finance, Operations, Product, and Compliance teams to deliver analytics solutions and drive data-informed decisions.

- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in commercial lending analytics, master scalable data modeling and reporting pipelines, strengthen your ability to influence cross-functional strategy with data, and become a trusted advisor in shaping credit policy, underwriting, and product decisions—positioning you for leadership in financial analytics and risk management.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong technical data skills: advanced SQL (complex joins, window functions, performance optimization) and proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, data manipulation, statistical analysis) with experience building reproducible analysis and scalable datasets.
- • 3 years of Commercial lending analytics expertise: portfolio segmentation, credit performance analysis, and lifecycle modeling.
- • Data modeling and analytics engineering: ability to work with large datasets, design clean data structures, and partner with Data Engineering on pipelines (e.g., dbt, Airflow).
- • Decision science mindset: hypothesis-driven analysis, experiment design, and quantifying trade-offs (risk vs. growth vs. profitability).
- • Data rigor: strong discipline around metric definitions, reconciliation, QA, and documentation to ensure consistent reporting.
- • Business translation: ability to convert complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for credit strategy, underwriting, and product decisions.
