📋 Description

• • Shadows experienced underwriters to learn company and regional middle market risk appetite and develop agency relationships.
• • Consults experienced underwriters to understand underwriting best practices and gain guidance on account evaluations.
• • Supports the underwriting team by completing tasks such as reviewing endorsements within authorized limits and analyzing assigned new and renewal accounts.
• • Under supervision, evaluates basic middle market accounts for risk selection and pricing within limited authority, using exposure data, loss history, financial information, motor vehicle records, premium audits, risk improvement reports, and online sources.
• • Maintains accurate and complete file documentation for all assigned accounts in accordance with company standards.
• • Communicates regularly with insurance agents to provide updates on account status, answer inquiries, and support relationship building.
• • Collaborates with marketing representatives to learn strategies for enhancing agent experiences and positioning EMC as the preferred insurer.
• • Attends peer training sessions, corporate workshops, and structured learning courses to build underwriting knowledge and professional skills.
• • Applies knowledge of commercial insurance products and coverage options to assess policy eligibility and pricing.
• • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make sound underwriting decisions based on available data.
• • Maintains high standards of professional competence and ethical conduct in all underwriting activities.
• • Uses Microsoft Office and other digital tools to manage documentation, communicate with agents, and track account progress.
• • Manages multiple underwriting tasks simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
• • Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with agents, team members, and internal stakeholders.
• • Applies negotiating skills to reach favorable underwriting outcomes where applicable.
• • Operates remotely from approved states: Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, or Louisiana.
