📋 Description
- • Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to company personnel and customers related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies
- • Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite the issuance of title insurance for commercial real estate transactions
- • Issue underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with established company processes
- • Provide guidance to company personnel in the performance of real estate settlement services
- • Apply legal expertise and risk analysis to evaluate commercial real estate transactions and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- • Interpret and apply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of real estate title and settlement processes to complex transactions
- • Demonstrate strong analytical rigor and business acumen to assess risk and make informed underwriting decisions
- • Negotiate and provide alternative solutions or convey unpopular information with tact and professionalism
- • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to build relationships and drive consensus
- • Act decisively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in high-volume, time-sensitive environments
- • Maintain strong organizational skills to multi-task, prioritize competing demands, and ensure timely follow-up on underwriting matters
- • Employ abstract thinking and creative problem-solving to develop innovative solutions for complex title insurance scenarios
- • Communicate clearly and effectively through excellent verbal, written, and listening skills to convey legal and underwriting guidance
- • Operate within delegated authority limits while ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements
- • Contribute to the transformation of the commercial real estate experience by enabling next-generation title insurance solutions
- • Support the National Solutions team in delivering industry-leading title insurance products and services across multiple regions
- • Maintain licensure in good standing and stay current with evolving real estate laws and industry standards
- • Foster an inclusive, people-first culture by bringing authentic, professional expertise to a diverse, collaborative team
🎯 Requirements
- • Law Degree required
- • Licensed to practice law, in good standing
- • 5-7 years title underwriting experience, commercial experience preferred
- • Must be familiar with real estate law, including federal and state regulations
- • Strong understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of real estate title and settlement process
- • Strong analytical rigor and business acumen
