📋 Description

• As Communications Manager at Opal OS Inc., you will own the company's PR and media strategy end-to-end, shaping how Opal shares its mission to help 1 billion people focus better every day through healthier technology use.
• Day to day, you will deploy PR campaigns, build high-profile partnerships with media brands, work directly with CEO Kenneth Schlenker on media placements and speaking opportunities, develop ambassador programs from Opal’s community of artists and athletes, track share of voice across media and social, collaborate with marketing to amplify user stories, and build essential infrastructure like press kits, newsrooms, and crisis response processes.
• You will join a small, high-impact, remote-first team (East Coast USA) with bi-annual travel to Europe, backed by world-class investors from Pinterest, Snapchat, and Revolut, and recognized as a top-30 US productivity app with nearly $1M revenue per employee and a 4.8/5 rating from 60k+ reviews.
• In this role, you will have ownership and flexibility to build a communications function from scratch in a mission-driven environment, gain direct exposure to CEO-level strategy, deepen expertise in the attention economy and digital wellbeing movement, and help position Opal as the defining global brand for intentional technology use at a pivotal cultural moment.

🎯 Requirements

• 3 to 5 years in PR, communications, or media relations with proven results
• Experience building communications functions in early-stage companies without templates
• Strong writing skills with ability to adapt to brand voice and avoid generic press release tone
• Deep familiarity with media landscape including influential newsletters, podcasts, and journalists
• Personal passion for or fascination with the attention economy and digital wellbeing
• Existing relationships with US tech, wellness, or lifestyle press (bonus)
