- ⢠Write engaging community stories through contributor spotlights, project showcases, and āhow I got startedā features that highlight the unique culture of the Open Home Foundation community and build a recognizable community voice across platforms.
- ⢠Serve as an active, authentic daily presence on Discord by welcoming new members, answering questions, facilitating events like AMAs and watch parties, identifying content for community highlights, and collaborating with moderators to maintain a healthy, values-aligned environment.
- ⢠Manage and grow the organizationās social media presence across key platforms in coordination with the Digital Marketing Manager, creating content that sparks genuine conversation rather than just fulfilling posting quotas.
- ⢠Support the planning and execution of online and in-person events, including conferences, community meetups, and industry appearances like IFA, by handling logistics, communications, platform setup, promotional activities, and post-event recaps.
- ⢠Assist in coordinating the contributor recognition and swag program by developing new swag ideas that resonate with the community, ensuring the right items are delivered to the right people at the right time.
- ⢠Produce video content including community spotlights, event recaps, social media reels, and tutorial videos to amplify community engagement and showcase project impact.
- ⢠Work closely with the Community Manager and broader Community Department to bring the Open Home communities to life across digital, physical, and event-based touchpoints.
- ⢠Maintain organizational discipline across multiple concurrent tasks without losing attention to detail, while remaining flexible and adaptive when priorities shift.
- ⢠Contribute to the growth and health of open-source communities by fostering inclusion, recognition, and belonging for contributors of all backgrounds.
- ⢠Represent the Open Home Foundationās mission of privacy, choice, and sustainability in all community interactions and content.
- ⢠Maintain consistent, professional communication in English across written and verbal platforms, ensuring clarity and alignment with brand voice and values.
- ⢠Support travel logistics for in-person events as required, including coordination of attendance, scheduling, and on-site assistance.
- ⢠Work within a fully remote, Europe-based team with flexible hours, maintaining at least three hours of daily overlap for collaboration and communication.
- ⢠Contribute to internal initiatives such as personal project days, including the opportunity to dedicate work time to Home Assistant-related side projects if currently active in them.
šÆ Requirements
- ⢠2 to 3 years of experience in community, social media, content, or communications roles, or equivalent demonstrable preparation
- ⢠Demonstrable experience managing social media accounts with real engagement (not just follower growth)
- ⢠Hands-on experience managing or deeply participating in Discord servers
- ⢠Experience supporting the logistics and execution of events (online or in-person)
- ⢠Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities with consistency and adaptability
- ⢠Professional fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ⢠Current residency and eligibility to work within Europe
