Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • Partner strategically with leadership and department heads to advise on compensation strategy, aligning pay practices with business goals and talent priorities.
  • Own end-to-end annual and off-cycle compensation planning processes, ensuring alignment between budget, business strategy, and talent retention objectives.
  • Design, build, and maintain compensation tools, models, and frameworks that enable cross-functional teams (People, Finance, leadership) to make confident, data-driven decisions on offers, leveling, and performance cycles.
  • Conduct rigorous, ongoing competitive benchmarking using market data sources such as Radford, Mercer, and Levels.fyi to inform compensation philosophy and structure.
  • Translate complex market research and compensation models into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leaders and hiring managers.
  • Build and manage compensation dashboards and reporting cadences to surface critical insights including pay equity, offer competitiveness, and retention risk.
  • Support performance review and calibration cycles by ensuring compensation inputs are accurate, consistent, and strategically aligned with company goals.
  • Design and refine incentive structures and equity programs tailored to compete with top AI, infrastructure, and technology companies.
  • Operate with extreme ownership — independently driving compensation initiatives from conception to execution without waiting for direction.
  • Maintain scientific rigor in all compensation work: models must be defensible, data must be methodically sourced, and recommendations must be evidence-based, not conventional.
  • Build tools and resources that are actively used by non-compensation teams to streamline decision-making and reduce manual effort.
  • Ensure compensation practices support Fluidstack’s mission of building civilization-scale AI infrastructure by attracting and retaining top talent in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment.
  • Adapt compensation programs rapidly in response to company growth, market shifts, and evolving talent demands in AI and infrastructure sectors.

🎯 Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in compensation or a related HR function with demonstrated ownership of compensation planning cycles and program design.
  • Proven ability to drive compensation planning transitions aligned with business and talent strategy, with specific examples.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to build and refine compensation programs, with deep knowledge of at least one competitive talent market (tech, AI, infrastructure, or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of building and maintaining complex compensation models and translating outputs into clear recommendations for senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging market data (Radford, Mercer, Levels.fyi, or similar) to benchmark and calibrate pay structures.
  • Experience supporting performance cycles end-to-end, including alignment of compensation with review processes, calibration, and promotion decisions.

🏖️ Benefits

  • Competitive total compensation package (salary + equity).
  • Retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous PTO policy, in line with local norms.
  • Salary range of $184,000 - $276,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
  • Equity in the form of stock options as part of total compensation.
