- • Support the delivery of the UK Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP) by designing and executing second-line monitoring reviews across key regulatory obligations
- • Document testing results clearly and present findings to governance committees, ensuring transparency and accountability
- • Track agreed remediation actions and follow up with first-line stakeholders to verify closure of identified issues
- • Assist in maintaining and periodically reviewing UK compliance policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and group frameworks
- • Contribute to compliance risk assessments and maintain the UK compliance risk register, identifying and escalating emerging risks
- • Monitor internal and external developments—including regulatory updates, business changes, and emerging technologies—to proactively identify new compliance risks
- • Support horizon scanning and gap analysis related to evolving UK cryptoasset regulatory obligations
- • Prepare materials for UK governance committees and boards, including RAG dashboards, KRI reporting, and compliance updates
- • Maintain accurate compliance registers, trackers, and record-keeping systems to meet regulatory obligations
- • Respond to compliance-related inquiries and due diligence requests from banking partners, counterparties, and external stakeholders
- • Liaise with Kraken’s global compliance function to ensure alignment between group policies and UK-specific regulatory requirements
- • Support senior compliance team members on ad hoc regulatory projects and workstreams as they arise
- • Translate complex compliance requirements into clear, plain language for non-compliance audiences across departments
- • Use data to inform risk judgments, prioritize tasks, and drive decision-making within the compliance function
- • Leverage automation tools and technology to streamline compliance processes, build efficient trackers, and reduce manual effort
- • Take ownership of assigned tasks, follow through on commitments, and deliver work to a high standard in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
- • Stay current with the UK regulatory landscape, including the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 and the developing cryptoasset regulatory regime
- • Collaborate cross-functionally to embed compliance controls into business operations while supporting Kraken’s growth in the UK market
🎯 Requirements
- • Compliance experience in a regulated financial services firm, ideally with exposure to cryptoasset, payments, or investment management businesses
- • Practical experience in compliance monitoring, testing, or risk management, with ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational controls
- • Familiarity with the UK regulatory landscape, including the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 and developing cryptoasset regulation
- • Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving environment
- • Excellent communication skills, with ability to translate complex compliance requirements into plain language for non-compliance audiences
- • Data-driven mindset and comfort using data to inform risk judgments and prioritise work
