- • As a Confirmed Backend Engineer in BlaBlaCar’s Payment Squad, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the company’s payment infrastructure, which supports 27 million users annually across 21 countries.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include developing and maintaining backend services for payment processing, integrating new payment methods, collaborating with multiple payment service providers, and ensuring compliance with fraud prevention and regulatory requirements.
- • You will work closely with frontend developers to deliver a seamless end-to-end payment experience, taking ownership of features from design to deployment in a high-impact, user-facing system.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with strong proficiency in server-side languages (e.g., Java, Python, or Go) and RESTful API design.
- • Hands-on experience with payment systems, payment service providers (PSPs), or financial transaction processing.
- • Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and reliability principles in high-traffic environments.
- • Experience working in agile teams with frontend engineers and product managers to deliver user-centric features.
- • Familiarity with fraud detection, compliance (e.g., PCI-DSS), or security best practices in payment flows.
- • Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
