📋 Description

• • Pioneer the next chapter of carpooling as the very first Front-End Web Engineer in BlaBlaCar’s Door-to-Door squad. You will architect and ship the web experience that turns “I’ll drive” into “we’ll ride together” for millions of new passengers and drivers.
• • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of high-impact features—from whiteboard sketches to production roll-out—while ensuring every line of code is scalable, performant and accessible across 21 countries and 27 million annual members.
• • Collaborate daily with a cross-functional trio: a visionary Product Manager, a pixel-perfect Product Designer, and a tight-knit group of backend and mobile engineers. Together you will translate ambitious OKRs into delightful, conversion-driving interfaces.
• • Rapidly iterate in an autonomous, experiment-first environment. Run A/B tests, gather real-time telemetry and pivot quickly, all while safeguarding long-term system health and architectural coherence.
• • Deep-dive into the BlaBlaCar technical stack: extend our React/TypeScript component library, refine our web-platform “skeleton,” and integrate seamlessly with Kotlin micro-services, Kubernetes clusters and event-driven pipelines.
• • Champion best practices in code quality, testing and observability. Conduct rigorous design and code reviews, evangelize accessibility standards and mentor junior engineers through the Front-End Web Engineering Chapter.
• • Bridge the gap between web and native worlds. Ensure that responsive web flows feel as snappy as our mobile apps, leveraging SSR, hydration strategies and performance budgets to hit Core Web Vitals targets.
• • Influence product strategy with data-driven insights. Surface funnel metrics, SEO wins and user-journey pain points to the leadership team, directly shaping the roadmap toward 1 million new passengers and €5 million incremental GMV by 2028.
• • Contribute to BlaBlaCar’s zero-empty-seats mission by removing every friction point—search, booking, payment, in-trip communication—so that car ownership becomes optional, not obligatory.
• • Share expertise beyond code: run internal tech talks, author RFCs and participate in guilds covering topics from state-management patterns to internationalization pipelines.
