  • • The Consultant - Data Operations & Technology (Women and Infants) role at Premier Inc. is a remote position focused on driving performance improvement initiatives for healthcare clients, specifically within the women and infants service line, by leveraging data analytics, process optimization, and technology solutions to enhance clinical and operational outcomes.
  • • This role is critical to Premier’s Advisory practice, where the Consultant acts as a key contributor to client engagements by transforming complex healthcare data into actionable insights, leading analysis efforts, and supporting the implementation of data-driven recommendations that improve quality, safety, and efficiency in maternal and infant care.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include obtaining and directing data analysis, executing interpretations and conclusions, preparing verbal and graphic presentations, and ensuring all work aligns with project objectives and professional standards (60% of time).
  • • The Consultant actively participates in client interviews to determine needs, summarizes analytical findings coherently, draws insights from data and observations, develops accurate conclusions, and drafts recommendations for team leadership review.
  • • They effectively execute project plans per statements of work, develop client-facing presentations and deliverables that communicate strategy and outcomes, and generate billable revenue by conducting analyses, preparing reports, and assisting clients in implementing changes.
  • • The Consultant listens for market opportunities during engagements, communicates potential leads to managers, and provides input and support to team deliverables throughout each phase of a project, including overseeing Analyst work when required.
  • • They participate in practice development activities for the Advisory Services Practice overall or specific service lines, contributing to the growth and enrichment of Premier’s service offerings (20% of time).
  • • The role includes dedicated time to learn Premier’s proprietary technologies and services, including Quality Enterprise databases and analytics tools, to build proficiency in internal platforms (15% of time).
  • • The Consultant completes all required annual training to maintain compliance and professional development standards (5% of time).
  • • Additional responsibilities involve building and maintaining dynamic, interactive data models based on Premier and client needs, leading process standardization efforts, automating client deliverables and internal tools, and troubleshooting Tableau workbooks, SQL scripts, and Excel analyses.
  • • The Consultant works within a team of highly qualified data operations and technology professionals, collaborating with internal product teams and Advisory counterparts across service lines to build strong Premier/client relationships.
  • • They are expected to maintain utilization targets for billable client projects, create value through meaningful client interactions and data analytics, and contribute to practice growth via participation in Advisory practice initiatives.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum of 2+ years of applicable work experience in healthcare, business, or finance, with demonstrated interest in healthcare performance management.
  • • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred qualifications include experience analyzing complex healthcare datasets, developing visualizations, and delivering data-driven recommendations.
  • • Proficiency in statistical tools (R, Python, SAS, Matlab), advanced Excel, Tableau, Business Intelligence, and SQL; familiarity with Lean Process Improvement and Six Sigma Green/Black Belt methodologies.
