- • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant Rheumatologist to join our innovative and rapidly growing team at Montu UK Limited. This permanent, remote position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a transformative area of medicine, focusing on the assessment and management of patients with complex conditions such as Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis, with a specific emphasis on exploring and prescribing medical cannabis treatment options (CBMPs).
- • As a Consultant Rheumatologist with Montu, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of medical cannabis treatment in the UK. You will be instrumental in providing high-quality, evidence-based care to a diverse patient population, contributing to the development and refinement of clinical protocols within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. This is a chance to leverage your specialist expertise in rheumatology within a pioneering field, making a tangible difference in the lives of patients seeking alternative and effective therapeutic solutions.
- • Your core responsibilities will encompass conducting comprehensive patient consultations, which include thorough initial assessments and ongoing management of their conditions. This involves delving into their medical history, understanding their symptomology, and evaluating their suitability for medical cannabis therapies. You will be expected to maintain detailed and accurate patient records, ensuring all clinical decisions are well-documented and aligned with best practices.
- • A crucial aspect of this role is active engagement in clinical outcome data collection. This data is vital for supporting evidence-based practices, demonstrating the efficacy of treatments, and contributing to the growing body of research in medical cannabis. Your participation will directly influence the evolution of our treatment strategies and contribute to the broader medical community's understanding of CBMPs.
- • You will be expected to contribute significantly to our clinical governance framework, upholding and advancing robust patient care standards. This includes adhering to all regulatory requirements, participating in peer reviews, and actively identifying areas for improvement within our clinical services. Maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards is paramount.
- • Collaboration is key to our success. You will work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, which includes experienced nurses and pharmacists. This collaborative approach ensures a holistic patient care pathway, where each team member's expertise is utilized to its fullest. You will communicate effectively with your colleagues, sharing insights and contributing to a seamless patient journey from initial contact through to ongoing care.
- • We are committed to your professional development. You will participate in ongoing training and continuous professional development (CPD) activities. This includes bespoke specialist training in cannabis-based medicines (CBMPs), delivered by leading experts in the field. Montu will sponsor your attendance at a recognised Medical Cannabis Course for Specialist Physicians, ensuring you are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.
- • The role is structured to offer flexibility and promote work-life balance. As a remote position, you will have the freedom to work from home, with flexible working hours and days. Standard session lengths are 4 hours, with individual appointments lasting 15 minutes for both new and existing patients. This structure allows for focused patient interaction. To support your onboarding and proficiency with Montu’s platform and protocols, an initial commitment of a minimum of 2 sessions per week (8 hours) is required.
- • Montu's unique multidisciplinary model is designed to optimize consultant efficiency. Nurses and pharmacists handle pre-consultation assessments and follow-up tasks, allowing you, as the Consultant Rheumatologist, to concentrate entirely on prescribing and direct patient care. This streamlined approach ensures you can dedicate your expertise where it is most needed, enhancing both your job satisfaction and the quality of care delivered.
- • This is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to be a pioneer in a rapidly evolving medical landscape. If you are passionate about innovative patient care, possess a strong clinical background in rheumatology, and are eager to make a significant impact in the field of medical cannabis, we strongly encourage you to apply. Join us in transforming lives and advancing the standard of care for patients across the UK.
