  • • Parafin is on a mission to empower small businesses by providing them with essential financial tools through the platforms they already use. We are building innovative technology that simplifies access to funding, spend management, and savings, partnering with leading companies like DoorDash, Amazon, Worldpay, and Mindbody. Our core function is to abstract away the complexities of capital markets, underwriting, servicing, compliance, and customer service, making sophisticated financial solutions accessible to small business owners. We are a dynamic and growing Series C company, backed by prominent venture capitalists, and our team comprises experienced professionals from top tech and finance organizations, united by a shared passion for supporting small business success.
  • • As a Content Designer (or UX Writer) at Parafin, you will play a pivotal role within our Design team, shaping the user experience across multiple products. Your primary responsibility will be crafting and refining user-facing content, including UI copy, email communications, and frequently asked questions (FAQs). This is a highly collaborative role where you will be deeply integrated into the design process for new features and products, working closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, Servicing, and Legal.
  • • You will be instrumental in ensuring that our product messaging is clear, concise, user-centered, and compliant with all relevant regulations. This involves not just writing, but also strategic thinking about how content supports user journeys and business objectives. You'll have the opportunity to influence product direction by providing insights and advocating for user needs through effective content design.
  • • Key responsibilities include writing and editing UI copy that guides users seamlessly through our financial products. This requires a deep understanding of user needs and the ability to translate complex financial concepts into simple, actionable language. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining clear, informative email communications that keep our users informed and engaged, whether it's for onboarding, transactional messages, or marketing purposes.
  • • Crafting comprehensive and easy-to-understand FAQs will be another critical aspect of your role, ensuring users can find answers to their questions quickly and efficiently. This content will serve as a vital resource, reducing support load and enhancing user satisfaction.
  • • A significant part of your work will involve content management. This includes navigating the process of obtaining approvals for copy from Legal and our banking partners, ensuring all content adheres to strict compliance standards. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining content repositories, establishing best practices for content organization and accessibility within the company.
  • • You will collaborate closely with Design, Product, Servicing, and Legal teams to ensure content is not only user-friendly but also legally sound and strategically aligned. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for shaping products and guaranteeing compliance across all user touchpoints.
  • • This role is perfect for an individual who thrives on making tangible improvements to products and feels a strong sense of ownership over their work. You will be empowered to take initiative, drive projects forward, and see the direct impact of your contributions on the success of small businesses.
  • • You will be a key voice in advocating for the user, ensuring that their experience is intuitive and positive. Your ability to translate complex requirements into clear, engaging content will be crucial for the success of our products and the satisfaction of our users. This is an opportunity to build foundational content systems and processes in a rapidly growing company, making a significant impact on the financial technology landscape for small businesses.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5-8 years of experience in content design, UX writing, or a related field.
  • • Proven ability to write and edit user-centered content across various surfaces (UI, email, FAQs), demonstrating clarity, conciseness, and accuracy.
  • • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate the rationale behind content decisions and gain stakeholder buy-in.
  • • Collaborative mindset and experience working effectively with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Engineering, Legal).
  • • Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with a demonstrated ability to bring structure and clarity to complex problems.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary range of $150k - $200k.
  • • Meaningful equity grant, allowing you to share in the company's success.
  • • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) and work-from-home flexibility to support work-life balance.
  • • Commuter benefits to ease your daily commute.
  • • Complimentary lunches provided.
  • • Generous paid parental leave to support new parents.
  • • 401(k) plan for retirement savings.
  • • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for comprehensive support.
