We are headquartered in San Francisco, New York, and Montevideo, and we are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Content Engineer, SEO Strategist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in defining and leading one of the most critical new functions within modern SEO and organic growth.
- • This is not a conventional content creation role, nor is it solely about executing traditional SEO tactics. Instead, it represents a unique opportunity to join the company that has redefined 'Content Engineering' as the essential operating system for scalable search performance. Just as product management, growth hacking, and DevOps emerged as distinct and vital categories, Content Engineering is now at a similar inflection point for SEO teams. We envision that by 2026, Content Engineering will be the most crucial role within a modern B2B marketing organization, embodying a powerful blend of technical SEO expertise, organic growth strategy, cutting-edge search research, and meticulous workflow execution.
- • Joining AirOps means you will be at the vanguard of this transformative shift, directly influencing how brands achieve rankings, secure citations, and build enduring visibility across all major search surfaces, including emerging AI answer engines. Your primary objective will be to combine best-in-class SEO practices, sophisticated automation techniques, and the power of AI to construct scalable workflows that fuel AirOps' own organic growth engine. You will be instrumental in executing a high-velocity, high-quality AI Search and SEO roadmap, significantly enhancing AirOps' visibility across both traditional Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) and AI-powered answer engines.
- • A key aspect of this role involves building robust structured content systems designed to improve crawlability, enhance extractability by AI, and accelerate publishing velocity without compromising on content quality. You will contribute critical insights, shape technical architecture, and implement structured publishing improvements that lead to smarter, data-driven SEO decisions. Furthermore, you will champion and produce public-facing examples that showcase best-in-class SEO-driven content engineering in action, setting a benchmark for the industry.
- • Your ultimate north star is to establish the standard for what a '10x SEO-native Content Engineer' can achieve. This involves building the foundational systems, optimizing workflows, and establishing the technical infrastructure that positions AirOps as the definitive model for the next generation of high-performing search teams. You will be responsible for driving measurable improvements across key metrics such as rankings, organic traffic, AI citation performance, structured data extractability, and the adoption of new workflows.
- • Responsibilities will include guiding content priorities and structured publishing enhancements through rigorous analysis of Page360 data, SEO audits, keyword research, and performance metrics. You will engineer SEO-driven workflows within the AirOps platform for critical processes like brief generation, content refresh cycles, publishing, internal linking, and the creation of structured outputs using repeatable templates. A significant focus will be on creating best-in-class human-in-the-loop workflows that not only optimize SEO operations but also provide invaluable feedback for future product development. You will execute on-page optimizations, manage content publishing within our CMS, conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits, and implement structured content updates. Leading keyword and topic research, supporting site architecture decisions, refining internal linking strategies, implementing schema markup, deploying structured data, and reinforcing SEO technical foundations are also core duties. Finally, you will build and maintain dashboards to meticulously track rankings, organic visibility, AI performance, search behavior, and workflow impact, providing recurring, actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with content, brand, product, design, and search teams, while continuously monitoring content decay, SERP volatility, and emerging performance trends.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in SEO execution, technical SEO, or content operations.
- • Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals, technical optimization, structured content, schema markup, and search architecture.
- • Familiarity with LLM visibility, AI search monitoring, or answer engine optimization tools for tracking brand presence and content performance in large language models.
- • Proven experience with SEO reporting, keyword research, site audits, dashboard creation, and data interpretation.
- • Experience publishing and optimizing content within CMS platforms (e.g., Webflow, WordPress, HubSpot).
- • Proficiency with essential SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, GA4, and Looker.
- • Experience with workflow building, AI prompting, and automation tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, Clay) is a significant advantage.
- • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams (brand, content, search, design, product).
