- • Design, develop, and maintain global taxonomies and ontologies for consumer domains including grocery, alcoholic beverages, apparel, and other new verticals across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo markets.
- • Build and govern metadata schemas, attribute systems, and entity relationships within a global ontology platform to support catalog excellence and product discovery.
- • Identify and resolve gaps in catalog quality, completeness, and discoverability across international markets through systematic analysis of product data and consumer behavior.
- • Apply best practices in hierarchy design, attribute standardization, and relationship definition to ensure consistency and scalability of classification systems.
- • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, and regional teams to operationalize taxonomy and ontology solutions across three global platforms.
- • Evolve and unify taxonomy structures across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo to create a cohesive global catalog framework that supports merchant onboarding and customer experience.
- • Contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance merchant catalogs and improve customer shopping experiences through improved search, navigation, and product recommendations.
- • Work hands-on with real-world catalog data to inform taxonomy design, ensuring alignment with local business practices and consumer expectations in diverse markets.
- • Leverage data from multiple sources to analyze catalog performance, validate taxonomy effectiveness, and communicate insights clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
- • Utilize taxonomy and ontology management tools such as Graphite, PoolParty, or Graphologi to implement, test, and maintain classification systems at scale.
- • Support the growth of the fourth side of the marketplace—Advertisers—by ensuring accurate, structured product data enables targeted advertising and monetization.
- • Operate at both strategic and granular levels, designing long-term taxonomy frameworks while also resolving day-to-day catalog inconsistencies and edge cases.
- • Champion innovation in taxonomy modeling by applying first-principles thinking and rejecting legacy approaches that hinder scalability or accuracy.
- • Partner with Machine Learning teams to ensure taxonomy structures feed high-quality inputs into search, recommendation, and personalization algorithms.
- • Drive adoption of standardized classification systems across regional teams to ensure global consistency in product categorization and merchant onboarding.
- • Monitor emerging trends in consumer product categories and adapt taxonomies to accommodate new product types, services, and market-specific nuances.
- • Maintain documentation of taxonomy rules, governance policies, and version histories to ensure transparency and auditability across global teams.
- • Act as a subject matter expert on catalog structure, classification logic, and entity relationships within the company’s global commerce ecosystem.
