- • The Contract Specialist serves as a key liaison between University stakeholders and external entities such as companies, foundations, and government agencies, playing a critical role in advancing research initiatives through effective contract management.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and managing a high volume of research contracts—including clinical trial agreements, federal contracts, data use agreements, and sub-awards—while advising faculty and staff on contractual risks and ensuring compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements.
- • The role operates within the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research at Washington University in St. Louis, supporting sponsored research activities across schools and departments by maintaining contract integrity, tracking systems, and strategic reporting for senior administration.
- • The position offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in research administration, contract law, and regulatory compliance while exercising independent judgment, prioritization, and problem-solving in a fast-paced, mission-driven academic environment.
